Selling a Lancaster County Farm

Farms combine residences, buildings, tillable ground, leases and program enrollments — each researched differently.

A farm is rarely one thing. It may include a residence, tenant housing, bank barns and modern production buildings, tillable ground, pasture, woodland and land that is difficult to use at all.

Leases, conservation and nutrient-management plans, tenant-owned equipment, and program enrollments such as Clean and Green may all follow the land or end at settlement depending on the documents involved.

Because each of these elements may attract a different buyer, they are usually researched and presented separately rather than blended into one per-acre figure.
